Terms & Conditions
How to enter
To enter the draw:
- Vote for the People’s Choice Award in the Victorian Premier’s Literary Awards 2025 via the form available on The Wheeler Centre website.
- Select the checkbox indicating you wish to enter the competition and agree to the terms & conditions.
Conditions of entry
Entry is free and open to anybody who votes in the VPLA 2025 People’s Choice Award (excluding Wheeler Centre employees and their families). One vote per person.

Closing date and time: 11.59pm, Sunday 2 March 2025

Details and value of prizes
- A book pack including a selection of ten books carefully curated by The Wheeler Centre team to offer you a wide-ranging reading list. The book pack may contain shortlisted titles alongside other books from the year.
- Total prize value approximately $300
Notification of winners
The winners will be notified via email by 6pm Tuesday 4 March 2025 via email. The winner’s name may be published via the Wheeler Centre’s social media, website and email channels.
Terms and Conditions
- The promoter is: The Wheeler Centre, trading as the Wheeler Centre for Books, Writing and Ideas. ABN 97 134 682 189 whose registered office is at 176 Little Lonsdale Street, Melbourne 3000, Australia.
- Employees of the Wheeler Centre or their family members or anyone else connected in any way with the competition or helping to set up the competition shall not be permitted to enter the competition.
- There is no entry fee and no purchase is necessary to enter this competition.
- Route to entry for the competition and details of how to enter are via People’s Choice Award (wufoo.com)
- The closing date for entry is 11.59pm, Sunday 2 March 2025. After this date, no further entries to the competition will be permitted.
- This competition is only open to Australian residents.
- No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason. The rules of the competition and the prize for each winner are as follows:
- The promoter reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice in the event of a catastrophe, war, civil or military disturbance, act of God or any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other event outside of the promoter’s control. Any changes to the competition will be notified to entrants as soon as possible by the promoter.
- The promoter is not responsible for inaccurate prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party connected with this competition.
- No cash alternative to the prizes will be offered. The prizes are not transferable. Prizes are subject to availability, and we reserve the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice.
- Winners will be chosen at random from all entries received and verified by Promoter and or its agents.
- The winner will be notified by email and/or letter within seven days of the closing date. If the winner cannot be contacted or does not claim the prize within seven days of notification, we reserve the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and pick a replacement winner.
- The promoter will notify the winner when and where the prize can be collected.
- The promoter’s decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
- By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.
- The competition and these terms and conditions will be governed by Australian law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Australia.
- The winner agrees to the use of their name in any publicity and marketing material. Any personal data relating to the winner or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with current Australian data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent. The winner’s name will be published via the Wheeler Centre’s social media, website and email channels.
- This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook, Twitter or any other Social Network. You are providing your information to the Wheeler Centre and not to any other party. The information provided will be used in conjunction with the following Privacy Policy found at https://www.oaic.gov.au/privacy-law/privacy-act/australian-privacy-principles
- No elements of the prize are refundable for cash.
These terms and conditions are consistent with the guidelines of the Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulation and the Gambling Regulation Act 2003 and the Gambling Regulations 2005.
