Lucy Schneider completed her Master’s in Opera Performance at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music in 2022, Lucy undertook her Bachelor of Music at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts. Her most recent role saw Lucy in her international operatic debut as Najade in Strauss’s Ariadne auf Naxos in Berlin, Germany. Across Australia she has performed the title roles of Helena in Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Cendrillon in Massenet’s Cendrillon, Pamina in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, Meg in Adamo’s Little Women, Dido in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas, and Spring in Bruckard’s The Selfish Giant with the Victorian Opera Company. She has additionally appeared in the roles of Amore and Valetto in Monteverdi’s L’incoronazione di Poppea, and Mystery in Purcell’s The Fairy Queen. In 2023 Lucy took part in the Berlin Opera Academy and the Berlin Opernfest, and performed as the Soprano soloist for the Victorian Premiere of Howard Goodall’s oratorio Eternal Light. She was a Young Artist with Opera Scholars Australia and was most recently awarded the OSA 2023 Aria Award and Opera Scholar of the Year.
