Alison is a multi-award winning Australian writer, actor and producer. She was the co-creator/co-writer/producer/director and lead performer of the The Letdown (ABC/Netflix). More recently she led the writing on season 1 of Binge drama, Love Me and wrote an episode of ABC anthology comedy, Summer Love about two very tired Mothers – a thematic thread through her work. Writing awards and whatnot: The Letdown won the AACTA award for Best Comedy Program for both seasons 1 + 2 (2017 + 2019), won she and Sarah Scheller the 2016 AACTA Award for Best TV Screenplay, and for Alison personally, the AACTA for Best Comedy Performer (2019)Her other nominations include the 2019 AACTA Award for Best Direction for Television (The Letdown); in 2022 Love Me season 1 was the most nominated show at the Logies (10 awards) and nominated for best TV drama among several other categories at the 2022 AACTA awards. Alison has worked as a screenwriter in Australia and the US, with FX, ABC, Warner Bros, Merman, Kapital Entertainment, Aquarius, Gristmill Productions, Giant Dwarf, Wooden Horse and Endemol Shine. Prior to her TV writing career Alison was best known for her work as an actor. She’s won multiple Helpmann and Greenroom Awards for her theatre performances and has starred in many Australian series, most recently the ABC’s, Significant Others. Her US credits include HBO’s The Leftovers, and the reboot of Steven Spielberg’s Amazing Stories. In 2023 she hopes to launch her own production company.
