Join author Anna Spargo-Ryan and find the thread in your story to turn it into a compelling, beautiful narrative. Learn about memoir and essay structures, shapes and rhythms, how to blend experience and research, and how to take your work to market.

 

 

 

Plotting, Structuring and Pacing when Writing for Children with Gabrielle Wang

How do you decide which is the best way to tell your story? Through discussion and various writing and drawing exercises you will explore ways of getting to the heart of your children’s early reader, first chapter or middle grade story.

The City of Literature Office

Virtual Writers in Residence 2024 announced!

Host organisations are Boroondara Libraries, F Project, Kingston Libraries, Melbourne Writers' Theatre, Moorabool Libraries, Myli-My Community Library, Society Women Writers Victoria and Whitehorse Manningham Libraries. They will each host a writer from a City of Literature (Nottingham, Durban, Dunedin, Edinburgh, Manchester and Barcelona).
