For the first time since 2014, a work of poetry has won the Victorian Prize for Literature.

Grace Yee has been awarded the $100,000 prize for her debut poetry collection, Chinese Fish, at the 2024 Victorian Premier's Literary Awards ceremony. In addition to the overall prize, Yee was also honoured with the $25,000 Award for Poetry.
Other winning works include the graphic novel Ghost Book by Remy Lai for Children's Literature, The Jungle and the Sea by S. Shakthidharan and Eamon Flack for Drama, Edenglassie by Melissa Lucashenko for Fiction, Personal Score: Sport, culture, identity by Ellen van Neerven for Non Fiction, Close to the Subject: Selected Works by Daniel Browning for Indigenous Writing, A Hunger of Thorns by Lili Wilkinson for Writing for Young Adults and Panajachel by Rachel Morton for Unpublished Manuscript.
The People's Choice Award, a prize voted for by the general public, was awarded to The Palestine Laboratory: How Israel Exports the Technology of Occupation Around the World by Antony Loewenstein.
