Meanland Launches Blogging Competition

BACK

Meanland, the joint venture of literary magazines Meanjin and Overland, has launched a competition to find two bloggers to write for its site. The Meanland project is intended to drive debate and analysis of the digital publishing revolution. Interested bloggers are invited to write up to 1000 words on one of four themes: digital writing as a form of oral storytelling; the impact of the internet on reading habits; paywalls; and creative solutions to old media problems. The winners will receive a $200 prize and $75 for each of their fortnightly blogs. The competition closes May 16. Entries to zsanders@unimelb.edu.au.

Meanland occasionally hosts panels on topics related to digital publishing in partnership with the Wheeler Centre. The next one, on the blogging economy, is on July 12.
