Neil Gaiman, author of Sandman and Coraline graphic novels, is set to make an appearance on The Simpsons according to his blog.
Gaiman revealed that his episode will be called ‘The Book Job’ though he was obtuse about the details “I play myself. I play a very different version of myself to the me I played in Arthur, though. For a start, I do not appear in anyone’s falafel. Also, I expect I will be yellow.”
It won’t be the first episode of The Simpsons to get bookish. Notably ‘Moe'Na Lisa’ saw bartender Moe have his poetry published as he hobnobs with American literary heavyweights Tom Wolfe, Gore Vidal, Michael Chabon, and Jonathan Franzen. Matt Groenig’s characters are no strangers to literature though with episodes called ‘Much Apu About Nothing’ and ‘A Streetcar Named Marge’.
