Anton Hur: Toward Eternity

Book Now

Embark on a journey through language, artificial intelligence and what it means to be human with International Booker Prize-shortlisted translator and author Anton Hur.

In his work as a translator, Anton Hur has brought books like Baek Sehee’s  I Want to Die But I Want to Eat Tteokbokki and Bora Chung’s Cursed Bunny to English-speaking audiences.

Now, the Seoul-based writer has written a book of his own: Toward Eternity, a mind-expanding story set in a near-future world where the lines between humanity and technology have become blurred. Through this speculative lens, Hur explores questions of love and memory, immortality and death – and raises slippery questions about what it means to be human.

Hur is joined by Liminal’s Leah Jing Mcintosh for an illuminating conversation about the unforeseen consequences of progress and the perseverance of identity in a world transformed.
