Plain English Speaking Award: 2023 Victorian State Final

Join a line-up of enthusiastic student speechmakers as they take to the stage to share their words and wisdom for the 2023 Plain English Speaking Award state final.

For some people, the thought of public speaking is a laborious, anxiety-ridden task. But for these enthusiastic speechmakers, it presents an opportunity to claim a Victorian State Champion title. Organised annually by the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority, the Plain English Speaking Award is a public-speaking competition for high school students. The Award celebrates innovative thinking, broad knowledge, and effective, direct communication and provides teens with a platform to express views on the topics that matter to them. Be a part of the action and witness a group of determined students take to the stage to showcase their eloquence and insight at the 2023 Plain English Speaking Award state final. Hosted by Zuva Goverwa. A live stream of this event will also be available from this page at 10am on Friday 21 July 2023. Bookings are not required.

This event is suitable for school groups and senior secondary students aged 13–18 years old.

Presented in partnership with the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority.
