Geoff Dyer is the award-winning author of over 20 works of fiction and nonfiction, including Out of Sheer Rage, Yoga for People Who Can’t Be Bothered to Do It, Zona, Jeff in Venice, Death in Varanasi and Otherwise Known as the Human Condition. His work has been translated into 24 languages, earning him numerous accolades including the National Book Critics Circle Award for Criticism and the Windham–Campbell Literature Prize. Blending criticism with memoir, Dyer’s newest book, The Last Days of Roger Federer sets his own experiences of late middle age against the last days and last works of writers, painters, footballers, musicians, and tennis stars who’ve mattered to Dyer throughout his life. Now the English author joins host Ramona Koval live in Melbourne as they explore ageing, endings, and how to go on living with art and beauty.
This event is supported by the Melbourne City Revitalisation Fund, a Victorian Government and City of Melbourne partnership.
