Exclusively for the Wheeler Centre’s World of Words, two of the most prominent names in British food culture, restaurateur Asma Khan and restaurant critic William Sitwell, sit down with host Jess Ho for a lively conversation about their careers in food and media, and the state of dining today. Asma Khan, the restaurateur behind the award-winning Darjeeling Express, is known for her commitment to diversity, multiculturalism, and social change through food. William Sitwell, a renowned restaurant critic and author of The Restaurant, offers a broad view of how and why we eat, from ancient history to modern times. Providing unique insights and provocative perspectives on a range of issues – from the rise (and fall) of fine dining to the role of popular culture food media – these two titans of the food industry, alongside influential Australian food writer Jess Ho, are sure to serve a spicy conversation.
