Mixing, pouring, stirring … what do you need to make the perfect potion?
Penny Harrison’s new picture book The Little Coven explores magic, difference and the power of friendship. Three little witches gather in the moonlight, bringing together their differences to make magic in the forest. But they’re also making something more powerful than potions: these three witches are crafting a lifelong friendship.
Join us for this school holiday event with Harrison and artist Pilgrim Hodgson. The session will include a storytime and Q&A, followed by a playful workshop led by Hodgson where kids will be invited to create their own magical concoctions and maybe make a new friend!
Suitable for kids aged 5 – 8 years old.

Penny Harrison is a children's author, book reviewer and lifestyle journalist.

A professional writer for more than 20 years, Penny has contributed to a variety of leading magazines, newspapers, guides and books, writing about everything from raising toddlers to raising chickens.
Penny lives in a rambling old garden on the edge of the Yarra Valley with her husband, two children and an ever-growing collection of books, plants and pets.
Pilgrim Hodgson
Pilgrim is an illustrator and children's book specialist. Her visual art blends colour, pattern, psychedelia and strong lines in a way which feels familiar and nostalgic yet new and undiscovered. Her work has been featured in local and international publications and her first children's book The 12 Days of Christmas was published in 2017 by Little Hare.
