Want to take action and fight for what’s right, but don’t know where to start?

Climate activist Jean Hinchliffe can help with that. At 17 years old, Jean has already got enough tips, tools and stories to fill a book. In fact, she’s done just that. Lead the Way: How to change the world from a teen activist and school striker is her first book - 'the ultimate guide to activism and making change'. In it, Jean draws on her experiences as one of the key organisers of the powerfully successful School Strikes 4 Climate.

In conversation with writer and LGBTIQA+ activist Nevo Zisin, Jean will discuss her activist journey, and share how she and other school students stoked a movement that has seen hundreds of thousands of Australians, young and old, take to the streets to demand a better future for all of us – and our planet.

She’ll also share tips for how other young people can follow in her footsteps: how to identify your cause, find allies, plan a march, nail your messaging, talk in public and work with the media – all while making sure you look after yourself and your friends along the way.

Join us at Warrnambool Art Gallery for a conversation that will inspire activists and ground-breakers of all ages.

The bookseller for this event is Collins Booksellers.
