Get directionsHold onto your hats! Jon Klassen, the author-illustrator of award-winning picture books I Want My Hat Back and This Is Not My Hat, has a penchant for characters as simply drawn as they are expressive – from thieving fish to gossiping crabs, desperate bears to deceptive rabbits … and turtles that just want a little help with their rock-climbing.
So, what comes first: the story, the illustrations, or the eccentric woodland creatures? Join Jon as he shares his secret to weaving pictures around stories, explores what makes a great yarn ... and talks about why he loves hats. Featuring a live drawing workshop, and a chance to ask questions.
For ages five to eleven. BYO hat.
Presented in partnership with Sydney Writers Festival.
