Carolyne Lee
Carolyne Lee is a senior lecturer and researcher in Media and Communications at the University of Melbourne. The author of three books, she has also written 18 academic articles and book chapters on the role of language in communication and cultural debates, published in journals and books in Australia, the UK, the US, France, and China.
Her latest published academic article, co-written with journalist Jennifer Martin, is on teaching magazine writing, while her most recent mainstream publications are in The Saturday Paper and in Meanjin Quarterly.
Helen McCabe
Helen McCabe is the editor-in-chief of the Australian Women’s Weekly. She also makes regular appearances on the Today Show, The Project, and 2GB.
Helen joined Australian Women’s Weekly after 12 years in newspapers working as the deputy editor of the Sunday Telegraph, night editor of the Australian and a number of roles on the Daily Telegraph. She has also reported from London, where she was the European correspondent for News Ltd.
Helen began her career in Adelaide television before moving to Canberra Press Gallery with the Seven Network. She is also the chairperson of the federal government’s Positive Body Image Awards, a board member of the National Adoption Awareness Week and an ambassador of the Australian Indigenous Education Foundation.
Amy Middleton
Amy Middleton is a Melbourne-based journalist and writer, who founded Archer Magazine, Australia’s first journal of sexual diversity, in 2013.
Archer is published twice-yearly by Amy and a small team, and its readership is growing at breakneck speed. Amy has written and edited for some of Australia’s most iconic magazines including Bulletin, Rolling Stone, Australian Geographic and The Big Issue.
Bill Condie
Bill Condie is production editor at COSMOS, Australia’s number 1 science magazine in print, iPad and online.
Bill has been a journalist for more than 30 years, working as a writer and editor in Europe, Asia and Australia for newspapers including The Guardian, The Observer and The Times.
