Readers are spoilt for choice: bookshops are overflowing with the great, the good (and the rest), and it could not be harder to choose what to read next. And let’s face it, a first-time local writer isn’t guaranteed of a guest spot on Rove, or the high-profile national tour.
Every fortnight, let DEBUT MONDAYS be your guide. Come and have a glass of wine and discover the best new writers around.
Under the spotlight for our kick-off event: Bob Franklin’s collection of literary horror stories, Under Stones, Andrew McDonald’s YA romp The Greatest Blogger in the World, Sofie Laguna’s Miles Franklin-longlisted One Foot Wrong and Our Girls, Madeleine Hamilton’s exploration of 40s and 50s Australian pinup girls.

Bob Franklin
Bob Franklin is a highly respected writer, actor and comedian (perhaps most recognisable from The Librarians, Stupid Stupid Men and Thank God You’re Here).
He recently wrote and directed a short film called Corrections and has several other projects in pipelines. Bob’s work has been described in The Age as ‘genuinely subversive, dank and nasty’ and by the Herald Sun as ‘particularly dreadful’.
