While discussing his new book Atlantic, Simon Winchester finds himself reflecting on creative fiction and the future of journalism. He talks about the influence of Jan Morris on his creative non-fiction and how he found himself writing journalism that became long form non-fiction that “let’s it rip… and adds the colour and the shading”.

Winchester was a guest of the Melbourne Writers Festival.
