Backstage before a gig or killing time in the van, musicians love to read. Joining Ramona Koval are opera singer Ali McGregor, conductor Richard Gill and Oz rock legend Shane Howard along with their favourite reads.

Howard tells of how he convinced Australian historian Manning Clarke to write liner notes for Solid Rock, while McGregor remembers great stalker pop songs and opera burlesque. And Gill reveals his rules of cryptic crosswords along with the reason poetry shouldn’t be set to music.
