When singer/songwriter/legend Paul Kelly sat down to talk with ex-Go Between Robert Forster it was the meeting of two of Australian music’s finest minds. Not only does Kelly sing his songs, but he also talks about the origins of these songs.

“I don’t think you can reduce poetry to meaning,” Kelly tells Forster, but he’s happy to talk about some of his unusual influences including Slim Dusty, Raymond Carver and, even, Foreigner.

You can also watch Paul Kelly’s appearance at the Gala Night of Storytelling including the family story behind one of his songs.

loved this interview - my son is a die-hard hip hopper and rapper and it always
brings me joy when I hear him sing quite regularly his favourite song - "from little
