Larissa Behrendt

Larissa Behrendt is a Professor of Law and Director of the Jumbunna Indigenous House of Learning at the University of Technology Sydney, who completed a Master of Laws and a Doctorate at Harvard Law School in 1994 and 1998.

She is a member of the Eualeyai/Kamilaroi nations of north-west New South Wales. Her first novel, Home, was the winner of the 2002 David Unaipon Award and also won the Commonwealth Writers’ Prize for Best First Book (South-East Asia/Pacific region). In 2009, Larissa was named NAIDOC Person of the Year.
