John Safran first hit TV screens in 1997, shooting and presenting 10 hilarious mini-documentaries for Race Around the World (ABC).
His first series, John Safran’s Music Jamboree, ripped the lid off the music world and won two Australian Film Industry awards. His next series, John Safran vs. God, saw John travel the world, diving into the most extreme religious experiences. It also won two Australian Film Industry awards: Best Comedy Series and Most Original Concept.
John has released a satirical song (Not The Sunscreen Song), co-hosted Australia’s highest rating public radio show (The Breakfasters, 3RRR) and now co-hosts a radio talk show with cranky but beloved Catholic priest, Father Bob Maguire (Sunday Night Safran, Triple J).
In 2009 John returned to our TV sets with a new series, John Safran's Race Relations. In this eight part adventure, he throws himself into the real world to ask, when it comes to love: should you stick with your tribe or escape it?
