She can be heard on Melbourne radio station RRR, and appears regularly on 774 ABC Melbourne and weekly on 720 ABC Perth’s Drive show. She is the editor of pop culture blog Defamer Australia. She has written for various publications including the Sunday Age, Sun Herald, the Drum, jmag, Lucky Magazine and 64 Magazine.

Jess has participated in Melbourne’s monthly Women Of Letters salon as both a contributor and guest host, and lectured on all things new media at RMIT and the University of Melbourne. She co-hosts rock & pop culture trivia nights twice a week at the East Brunswick Club and Corner Hotel, and can often be found late at night manning the wheels of steel at assorted establishments under the ridiculous moniker DJ Jess Cougar Mellenguire.
