Andrea Goldsmith is a Melbourne-born novelist whose fifth book The Prosperous Thief was shortlisted for the 2003 Miles Franklin Award. Her literary essays have appeared in Heat, Meanjin, Australian Book Review, Best Australian Essays and numerous anthologies. She has taught creative writing throughout Australia, mentored new writers and is a lively performer of her work.
Andrea is a life-long poetry lover. She is particularly drawn to the Polish poets – Milosz, Herbert and Szymborska – for their lucidity, their lyricism, and their extraordinary power to reveal the minutiae and the shadows of human endeavour.
Her latest book is Reunion, a novel of friendship, obsessive love, intellectual strivings and untimely death, it was published by 4th Estate.
