Surreal, edgy and darkly comic, Etgar Keret has established his reputation as a major international talent. In Israel, he’s seen as a worthy successor to the Amos Oz generation with work that is as bold and challenging as it is mischievous and playful. Keret’s work runs the gamut of literature’s potential, from flash fiction to short stories to comic books, children’s books, television and film. In conversation with Emmett Stinson.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, this event (and Etgar Keret’s Australian visit) has been cancelled. We apologise and hope to present it at a later date.
Etgar Keret was born in Tel Aviv in 1967 and is one of the leading voices in Israeli literature and cinema. He has published works in a variety of formats including short stories, novellas and graphic novels, as well as a number of award winning screenplays.
