Melbourne born and bred, Fiona Menzies studied History of Art at Melbourne University before gaining a Masters degree at the Courtauld Institute of Art in London.
Rather than pursue a career as a curator as planned, Fiona found herself working first as an adviser and then chief of staff in the offices of two federal arts ministers.
During that time, Fiona worked on many reforms including the Nugent Review into the major performing arts sector and changes to taxation laws to encourage philanthropy in the arts and broader not-for-profit sectors.
After spending a few years at home with her two young daughters, Fiona returned to the workforce most recently running a small children’s cancer research charity. She is working on establishing some fruitful and long-term partnerships as head of development.
