Chrissy Sharp

Director

An arts manager of international standing, Chrissy Sharp’s professional career has taken several guises. Most recently, she has been responsible for turning around London’s Sadler’s Wells.

Chrissy also managed the Sydney Arts Festival for three years, was head of policy at SBS, and has been a theatrical agent, farmer and flower shop owner.

Sharp describes her new role as Director of the Centre for Books Writing and Ideas as “the best job in the world”. A long-running obsession with Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa’s The Leopard led to a memorable Easter in Sicily. But although the villa where she stayed was reminiscent of Donnafugata, Palermo itself was more Peter Robb’s Midnight in Sicily than Lampedusa’s fictional town.

She currently lives in East Melbourne with her husband, Michael Lynch.
